Canvas Framing
Canvases
We are experts at canvas-stretching and provide services for framers, artists and restorers all around the area.
Whether your work needs top-end, bespoke stretcher bars with hand-fixed wedges, or a more ‘off-the-peg’ solution, we can advise you and find a price-point to suit your budget.
Stretching canvas helps keep the work taut and is visually pleasing compared to a non-stretched canvas. It protects the work for the long-term, which can then be hung with or without a frame.
We hand-stretch all canvases, large or small, with care and skill. The aim is to be millitmetre perfect with the image as far as possible, while ensuring that the stretcher bars are as square as possible – it is surprising how many come to us which are far from square!
Send us your image and we can arrange for it to be printed onto high-quality canvas, ready for stretching and framing. For more details see: Print and Frame.
We have a choice of quality materials and methods. Canvases will go floppy over time and need to be ‘tapped out’ – if the corners have been fixed, as opposed to the use of canvas ‘wedges’, this process will not be possible, and your canvas will go floppy over time.
